Oh wait

DGR,

Yeah, so, I forgot to add the most important part of my last post... which is...

TELL ME WHAT YOUR FAVORITE MOVIES ARE! And I will do my best to see them.

I want modern stuff, and classics, too. New wave French, great actors, great performances that have become cultural clichés, all that stuff. I'm ravenous for films right now.

best,

My favorite actor these days is Phillip Seymour Hoffman. See Love Liza if you get a chance, and can handle something depressing.

The other night I saw No Country for Old Men. I loved Tommy Lee Jones's performance. He was brilliant in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada too.

hey i like movies too!

Wong Kar Wai. Amazing director. I'm also on this cinematographer trip right now, and am obsessed with anything Chris Doyle or Roger Deakins shoots. I hear No Country for Old Men is awesome, can't wait to see that. Roger Deakins shot it.

Be sure to see PT Anderson's upcoming film "There Will Be Blood." Out at the end of the year, it's supposed to be quite good. He made "Magnolia" and "Punch Drunk Love," both of which are amazing.

For fantastic direction, check out some Michelangelo Antonioni films. Very meditative. A lot of beauty in the silence/subtext of his scenes. "Blowup" is a good one.

Also: Roman Polanski. See "Rosemary's Baby" if you haven't yet. It's my favorite horror film ever. And of course "Chinatown" and "The Pianist" are fantastic.

For some french new waveness, see Francois Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard. "Day For Night" and "Bande á Part" respectively.

And for some classic classics, look no further than Billy Wilder. He is an amazing filmmaker.

Enjoy.
